A clear understanding
Your information.
This note explains the account and newsletter features of Daniel's Vault.
Accounts
When you sign in, Firebase handles your Google or email-link authentication. We use your verified email and account identifier to recognise your account. A secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to five days, or until you sign out.
Newsletter
Subscribing is optional and separate from creating an account. We keep your email, consent source, confirmation time and subscription status in Firebase. Resend sends confirmation messages and manages the Vault mailing segment and delivery preferences. You join the active mailing list after confirming your email.
You can unsubscribe through the preference link in a Vault email or from My Vault. Vault preferences are separate from the developer portfolio newsletter. A minimal record of your preference may remain so we can respect an unsubscribe or delivery suppression.
Hosting and service providers
The website runs on Vercel. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights help us understand website use and performance. Authentication links, newsletter confirmation pages and My Vault are excluded from those analytics. Firebase and Resend process the information needed to provide the account and email services.
Keeping things secure
Subscription records are accessed through the server. We limit repeated requests to help prevent abuse. Sign-in links are private, single-use credentials; newsletter links are signed and scoped to the action they perform.
Questions or requests
To ask about your information or request account or subscriber-record deletion, email Daniel. Removing an account and unsubscribing are separate actions.
